Highlights

Week 14:

November 23rd-27th, 2015

 

 

The Nursery Class learned about shapes and colors this week. During Physical Education, the students learned about kicking, throwing, and catching.

The students of Pre-K learned about the letter ā€œNā€ during Phonics this week. They also learned about the pronunciation of words starting with ā€œNā€, such as ā€œnestā€, ā€œneedleā€, and ā€œnailsā€. 

The K-1 Class focused on counting numbers 1-10 by using their fingers during Math. For Phonics, the students learned to pronounce the names of different fruits and vegetables. 

The students of K-2 learned about the letter ā€œNā€, and the pronunciation of the words ā€œnestā€, ā€œneedleā€, ā€œnailsā€, and ā€œnetā€. During Physical Education, the students learned about balancing their bodies. 

The students of K-3 received a postcard from their pen pals in Manitoba, Canada. The students were excited to learn about the character ā€œWinnie the Poohā€, who was inspired from a black bear ā€œWinnieā€, from Winnipeg. The students also got the chance to experience playing hockey.

Week 13:

November 16th-20th, 2015

 

 

The students of the Nursery Class continued refining their motor skills, by learning to balance building blocks and pulling and pushing the toy trucks.

For Nursery Rhymes, the students danced to songs ā€œHead, Shoulder, Knees, and Toesā€, and ā€œFive Little Moneysā€. During Phonics, the students learned about the letter ā€œMā€, and how to pronounce words such as ā€œmoonā€, ā€œmonkeyā€, and ā€œmopā€.

The students of K-1 reviewed the words they had learned during Phonics by participating in a ā€œgrocery shoppingā€ activity. During Physical Education, the students learned about stretching their arms. 

The K-2 Class learned about the letter ā€œMā€, and how to pronounce words such as ā€œmagnetā€, ā€œmaskā€, and ā€œmailboxā€. During Social Studies, the students wrote thank-you letters to their parents.

The students of K-3 received postcards from their pen pals in Turkey and Taiwan. The whole class got to experience tasting Turkish Delight and writing numbers 1-10 in Chinese. 

Week 12:

November 10th-13th, 2015

 

 

The Nursery Class worked on building teamwork. The students enjoyed playing and sharing their toys with one another. The students played with building blocks and also throwing and kicking soccer balls. 

The students of Pre-K learned the letter ā€œLā€ this week. During Math, the students reviewed counting numbers 1-10, and for their Physical Education Class, the students learned about crawling, hopping, and tiptoeing. 

The K-1 Class learned to write the letter ā€œLā€, both in upper and lower cases. During Phonics, the students learned about the different types of foods they eat, such as, boiled rice, fried chicken, and popcorn.

The students of K-2 learned to identify living and non-living things during their Science Class. The students also enjoyed singing songs about the days of the week, the months of the year, and the four seasons. 

The K-3 Class received two postcards from British Columbia, Canada. The students learned about maple trees, sugar canes, sea otters, and the blue whale. The students also got to taste maple cookies, in which they all enjoyed. During Arts and Crafts, the students made Christmas Trees.
